Autumn Open Woods

October 27 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Wander the beautiful natural trails in Phyllis and Frank Yuhas Woods at your own pace during peak fall color. This pristine forest is a living museum of towering beech, shagbark, and oak trees. As you explore the fireworks of hues in the tree canopy, the rhythm of nature will sound like leaves crunching beneath your feet.

This nature preserve is closed to the public except for a few hours each spring and fall.  As a gesture of our appreciation, Red-tail is opening Phyllis and Frank Yuhas Woods for friends and supporters (yes, you!) on Sunday, October 27 from 1pm-4pm.

Like an open house where you can visit a closed venue, this is an “open woods.” Open Woods is a self-guided exploration where you will discover the vivid sounds, sights, and smells of a forest in transformation.  You can arrive and depart at your leisure between 1pm-4pm.

Parking is on a grassy lane past the paved driveway. This nature preserve has no restroom or water facilities.

No registration is necessary. Just show up and prepare to be amazed!
