Kalee’s Summer of Stewardship

Kalee’s Summer of Stewardship

Working with Jake and Christen at Red-tail Land Conservancy was the best way I could have spent the summer of 2019. I was able to learn more about East-Central Indiana’s natural places and the story behind the properties Red-tail stewards. I love being out in nature and this job allowed me to do just that and actively work to improve the properties. During my internship, I learned several things about land management, plant identification, and equipment operation. The skills I gained during this internship will help me through the rest of my career.

My favorite memories of the summer were spending time with Jake and Christen (and Julie when she would join us), listening to eclectic pod casts in the RLC truck or joking and talking about life while doing stewardship work. I really enjoyed my time working for Red-tail and recommend it to anyone considering applying!
